Sewing Classes, Courses, Workshops & More in 2020!

We had a fantastic end to our 2019 year of sewing here at Rosewood Cottage Mount Duneed with lots of Christmas parties in the Rose room! We look forward to an amazing line up of sewing classes in 2020!

We have beginner, intermediate and advanced sewing classes and courses for kids and adults aged 8 to 88!

We have specialty workshops including ‘How to Love your Overlocker!’

And our popular fabric buying bus trips from Geelong to Melbourne.

Here are the dates:

General Sewing Classes start in term 1 from Monday 3rd February 2020 and run for 8 weeks.

Beginner Weekend Workshops – next class is Saturday 7th & 14th March 2020.

Learn to Love Your Overlocker – Workshop No.1 – Saturday 28th March 2020.

Flatlocking – Overlocking Workshop No.2 – Sunday 29th March 2020.

Kids January School Holiday Program runs from Monday 13th to Thursday 16th January 2020.

Kids Term 1 after school sewing lessons start from 3rd February 2020.

Fabric Buying Bus Trip – 29th Feb, 12th Sep and 21st November 2020.

Vintage Vogue Pattern 2903 Telstra Awards

We were absolutely delighted to be awarded as a Telstra Business Awards Victorian State Finalist for the 3rd year running this year!

We would like to thank all??our students and customers, our online community, our team of teachers and friends and family for all your support.

For the occasion, I made myself a new dress from the Vintage Vogue Pattern 2903.

I made it from a cardinal red delustered stain. I lengthened the skirt to full length, created a new bodice midriff panel, re-shaped the neckline to suit me and used the long sleeve.

I made a petticoat with 3 tiers of netting and finished with a poppy print chiffon draped over the bust line and over the shoulder.

Sustainable Sewing Competition

We are excited to announce our term 3 Sewing Competition!

HOW TO ENTER:

1. DESIGN YOUR UPCYCLING PROJECT (CLOTHING, BAG, HAT, CUSHION, TOY ETC) with your most innovative ideas for transforming an old garment into something new!

2. SEW YOUR PROJECT WITH YOUR BEST SEWING

3. POST YOUR BEFORE & AFTER PHOTO’S & YOUR STORY & INSPIRATION FOR YOUR PROJECT ON FACEBOOK & TAG MAREE PIGDON (or email it to [email protected]). Current adult & kids students, please leave your project at Rosewood Cottage for judging.

FIRST PRIZES:

* Adult current Maree Pigdon Sewing Adult Students – Private 2hr lesson with Maree!
* Kids – Free School Holiday Class at Maree Pigdon Sewing Centre
* All other online community entries ??? Online Apron Sewing Course
