Sewing Tour – UK Textiles Goldhawk Road London

Hi Everyone,

Today’s sewing tour post is for all you fabric stash lovers!

That’s right we went to visit a fantastic fabric store in London, UK Textiles which has just about every fabric you can imagine.

It’s located on a very popular sewing street ‘Goldhawk Road’ in Shepherds Bush. Watch the video below to see the start of our journey!

I couldn’t wait to go into UK Textiles to explore the beautiful fabrics.

Paul from UK Textiles showed us gorgeous silks, linen, wools, cashmere, cottons and more!

Sewing Tour – Fabrications London

Hi Everyone,

In today’s post I am pleased to introduce you to Barley Massey from Fabrications. Barley’s shop is held on a gorgeous street in London ‘Broadway Market in East London’ that has a fantastic vibe to it.

Fabrications is an??independent??shop and creative hub where Barley sells textile merchandise, haberdashery, creative products and gifts as well as running sewing and craft classes.

Barley specialises in up-cycling, making use of fabrics, fibers and discarded garments and clothing to re-create them into something new and original!

Creative displays

Barley sells a range of haberdashery and yarns as well as sewing machines in her shop.

Barley welcomes sewers from London and all over the world!

Chair covers in the sewing studio are beautiful embroidery pieces from Barley’s grandmother, the special person who taught and inspired Barley to sew when she was little.

Jacqueline takes time out from filming and photograhpy at Fabrications and then couldn’t tear herself away from Tommy the ever so cuddly sewing helper!

Sewing Tour – Sew Over It London

Hi Everyone,

Next we made our way to visit Lisa Comfort at Sew Over It. This is a gorgeous shop, it is so cute and pink and filled with all things sewing! It also has a delicious sewing cafe inside where the cakes are made by local bakers.

Lisa fell in love with sewing when she was 11 and made her first skirt. A year later her parents gave her a sewing machine and she has never looked back since.

Lisa started??Sew Over It in a response to the growing feeling that sewing was becoming a lost skill. Lisa hopes to pass on her passion for sewing through Sew Over It and encourage more people in London to pick up a needle and thread!

Meet Lisa in the video interview below and learn about her most recent project – the launch of her first sewing book!

Take a tour of Sew Over It and check out inspirational projects students making in the video below.

Sew Over It consists of an upstairs shop and sewing class area as well as a gorgeous downstairs sewing room which is just so pretty in pink!

A table full of buttons and haberdashery that trick the kids into thinking they are sweets!
