In this module you will find all the information to help you measure the correct size for your sewing project and selecting your pattern.
Your pattern size is different to the size you would normally buy in shops. So it's important to measure yourself. Don't be alarmed if your pattern size is 1-2 sizes larger than your usual size. Here is a picture of the PJ pattern I am using for this course. Remember if you can't find this pattern please use a similar one instead.
Measure your bust, waist and hip and then match to the fabric guide below.
* When measuring your hip ensure you measure the widest part of your hip line.
Size XS (bust 80-83cm / hip 82-86cm) - if you prefer full length sleeves & full length pants you need 2.80 mts of 150cm wide or 3.70 mts of 115cm wide. Or if you prefer short sleeves & 3/4 pants you need 2.20 mts of 150cm wide or 3 mts of 115cm wide.
Size S (bust 86-90cm / hip 90-94cm) - if you prefer full length sleeves & full length pants you need 2.80 mts of 150cm wide or 3.80 mts of 115cm wide. Or if you prefer short sleeves & 3/4 pants you need 2.35 mts of 150cm wide or 3.35 mts of 115cm wide.
Size M (bust 94-98cm / hip 98-102cm) - if you prefer full length sleeves & full length pants you need 3.25 mts of 150cm wide or 4.40 mts of 115cm wide. Or if you prefer short sleeves & 3/4 pants you need 2.45 mts of 150cm wide or 3.70 mts of 115cm wide.
Size L (bust 102-106cm / hip 106-110cm) - if you prefer full length sleeves & full length pants you need 3.35 mts of 150cm wide or 4.75 mts of 115cm wide. Or if you prefer short sleeves & 3/4 pants you need 2.80 mts of 150cm wide or 4.10 mts of 115cm wide.
Size XL (bust 110-114cm / hip 115-120cm) - if you prefer full length sleeves & full length pants you need 3.70 mts of 150cm wide or 4.75 mts of 115cm wide. Or if you prefer short sleeves & 3/4 pants you need 3.10 mts of 150cm wide or 4.10 mts of 115cm wide.
