My Brother's Wedding

My eldest brother Peter married Kathy on Saturday 24th October 2009. I was honoured to make Kathy's wedding dress, her bridesmaid Bev, mother of the groom Elisabeth, and three page boys, Daniel, Christopher & Richard. What a delight to stitch love and wonderful memories into every piece!

Kathy's Wedding Dress Designing

I designed and handmade Kathy’s wedding gown, bridesmaid and page boys. Kathy’s gown was made from ivory pure silk jacquard featuring a beautiful floral design. Plain silk ivory was used for the facings and lining and black satin for the skirt with a touch of red silk lining! The jacket features soft bias cut pleating, loops and covered buttons and a deep rouched collar. ¾ length sleeves and was finished with a cluster of lovely handmade silk roses and rouleau loops. I designed Bev’s bridesmaid gown to match with the same collar using a gorgeous pure silk in the colour of peppermint crisp – mint shot with chocolate.

Wedding Floral Art!

With the help of Jenny, Kay & Jackie I made the table floral arrangements for my brother's wedding and what fun we all had smelling the roses as we worked!
